I can't fault the movie for that, since it was intentional, but still. The bloggerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05507490282374074798noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4077952082807573906.post-85028729534921301142014-11-13T17:05:14.525-08:002014-11-13T17:05:14.525-08:00I've heard that said about this and about Anas...I've heard that said about this and about Anastasia, which does lend credence to the apocryphal idea, but I can see people being more forgiving with it for that very reason. Brand loyalty's a hell of a drug. The bloggerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05507490282374074798noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4077952082807573906.post-41643974112798780302014-11-04T05:58:38.593-08:002014-11-04T05:58:38.593-08:00I used to love this as a child, I even had the Thu...I used to love this as a child, I even had the Thumbelina bracelet that had little charms of the cute characters, but I also blame this movie for my frog phobia. I also can't rewatch it because I had an absolutely awful manager that looked exactly like the creeper male frog. Sort of acted like him too.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02111141463384044923noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4077952082807573906.post-85087588833195945152014-11-04T05:06:08.274-08:002014-11-04T05:06:08.274-08:00I heard an interesting story that's possible a...I heard an interesting story that's possible apocryphal (I've never heard it sourced in any way) involving Thumbelina. Two focus groups watched the movie - one with the Warners/Bluth studio identifiers & one with Disney studio identifiers in their place. The stuff that people decried as cliche & stupid in the original version screening was the same stuff hailed as funny & original in the Disney-fied screening. Like I said, this may not be necessarily true, but it explains how there was very much a formula for animated movies of this era & all that people mostly cared about was who was delivering it to them.Melahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05539894845356203447noreply@blogger.com
